Harley-Davidson employee says he was fired for buying bike from another dealership

Ben Johnson worked for Harley-Davidson of Fargo and he says that on December 22nd, he was terminated by the management because he bought a bike from a competing HD dealership in Alexandria, Minn.

Johnson told a local news outlet that he tried to trade in his Road Glide (that he bought from Fargo) in order to lower his payments to help with rising household expenses, primarily his wife's cancer treatments, but  "They never got back to me,” Ben said, “I was just trying to get something done faster than later."

He says he waited at least a week and a half with no response from his Fargo store. So he called other Harley dealerships, and within two days Ben found a cheaper Harley-Davidson Fat Bob 100 miles out, in Alexandria, Minn.

"That got me into a lower payment that was better for me and my wife to save some money,” he said, “and put toward medical bills and help us both out."

Loyalty is everything in biker world. This I know. And I’m no rocket scientist.
