Harley-Davidson To Host ‘The Midnight Rider’s Rally’ In Honor Of Final Gregg Allman Album

Motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson will host “The Midnight Rider’s Rally” at several of its North American locations in honor of Gregg Allman’s final album Southern Blood. The events will take place on Friday, September 8, the same day Rounder Records will issue the new LP.

Gregg, a co-founding member of legendary rock group The Allman Brothers Band and Harley-Davidson enthusiast, passed away at the age of 69 earlier this year. He recorded Southern Bloodwith producer Don Was and Allman’s longtime manager and friend Michael Lehman at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The album features 10 songs performed by the Gregg Allman Band and written by Jerry Garcia & Robert Hunter, Lowell George, Bob Dylan, Willie Dixon, Jackson Browne, Tim Buckley, Scott Sharrard, Spooner Oldham & Dan Penn and others.

Those wishing to attend a local “The Midnight Rider’s Rally” can pre-register at the official Gregg Allman store. A portion of the sign-up fees will go to the Allman/Lehman Endowed Scholarship at Syracuse University. Each registration comes with a digital download of Southern Blood.
