Prosecutors were stunned when the jury deadlocked in the first trial of the Waco Twin Peaks shootout.  A judge on Friday declared a mistrial in the case of Jake Carrizal, president of the Dallas Bandidos motorcycle club, who could face life in prison if he ultimately is convicted on three counts stemming from the melee on May 17, 2015. So despite having over two years to prepare, and hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars at their disposal, the defense was able to convince a few members of the jury by claiming Carrizal and the other Bandidos acted in self defense.   Costs Mount in...

State Fair Settles Civil Rights Lawsuit with Veterans and Christian Motorcycle Clubs

In 2010 a group of motorcyclists, including two from the Spirit Riders Motorcycle Ministry and one with the US Military Vest MC were turned away from the Florida State Fair due to a "no colors" policy that was initiated in an effort to discourage gang activity.  The incident was caught on tape and the three filed suit in Federal Court and were represented by Tarpon Springs lawyer Jerry Theophilopoulos. This past August, the trio were awarded $72,500 in a settlement.
