Founder Danny Perkins lives in a million dollar condo in Miami and oversees a lucrative money making biker funded charity
When Orlando television news reporter Matt Grant started digging around into the finances of Daytona based BADD, (Bikers Against Drunk Drivers) he hit a stone wall, at least when he contacted the organization directly. BADD is a well known motorcycle charity in Central Florida and is known for it’s motorcycle giveaways. According to records filed with the State of Florida in the three years prior to 2014, the organization collected just over $2.6 million dollars. Those same records indicate the charity has returned just $20,300 to victims of drunk drivers, less than 1% of the money it collected. The president of Charity Navigator, one of the largest non-profit charity watch dogs in the United States said the numbers don’t add up and gives BADD a “zero” rating. Records indicate that the charity’s founder Danny Perkins owns a luxury condo on Miami’s South Beach worth almost a million dollars and which records indicate was paid for in cash and a 27 foot pleasure boat which is registered in the charity’s name. When asked how donations are spent, Perkins told WESH in an email “the charity speaks for itself,”claiming BADD has sent out 5 million flyers and used Facebook posts to encourage people not to drink and drive.

According to ‘contest rules’ you can enter to win without a purchase by sending a 3.5 × 4 card with your info. B.A.D.D. discloses that you will be entered to win. I am reluctant to believe they will enter the freebie card, but they have to CYA and offer a no purchase chance.
Re Thomas Bayterian March 14, 2023. How coincidental that two weeks later, they are also showing me a raffle of a camper van for March 31, 2023. They also show the winners of the past auctions, and neither of the previous two weeks included a camper van. It’s almost as if they show you what you’ve been looking at recently! Coincidentally, one of those recent winners is listed as from my town, so I will feel reassured that it must be real. I bet you were shown one of the recent winners from your town! …. Even though my last name matches this organization, I guess I’ll pass on this scam. Thanks y’all for helping make this obvious.
Probably graduated from Trump University! Birds of a feather! 1% to charity sucks.
They get you with pictures of awesome stud cars .They sell regular batches of tickets then triple, quadruple the tickets near the end of the raffle. Certainly not fair to the poor saps who purchased early on. They sucked me in twice. I will definitely cancel my card and delete these frauds. A 0 rating for charity and then use Drunk Drivers for your hook , Pricks , stay in Florida, where are you IRS ???
I saw the ad for the camper van raffle. I lost my daughter to a drunk driver on Christmas day 2019. I recently tried to purchase a camper, but despite an 831 credit score I could not get approved. I wanted this so bad. I worked my fingers to the bone for the past 2 years to get to this point and was very disappointed when the financing didn’t happen. Now I saw the ad for the camper raffle and thought, hey, give it a shot. Now I read this and makes me even more saddened. Terrible people. But thanks.
