BMW is recalling 2,062 K1200 sport motorcycles for an issue with the front brake fluid reservoir. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Department, BMW says model year 2007-2008 K1200S, K1200R and K1200R Sport models need to be retrofitted with a screen insert in the front brake fluid reservoir to prevent the fluid from foaming under certain riding conditions. BMW safety experts say that if the brake fluid foams, there will be reduced brake capability at the front wheel which could result in a crash. he front brake fluid reservoir will be retrofitted with a screen insert, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during November 2012. Owners may contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417 or email BMW at CustomerRelations@bmwusa.com.
