Suzuki is recalling certain model year 2012 GSX-R1000 motorcycles

Due to loose bolts the side stand interlock switch may fail. On the GSX-R1000 models, failure of the switch will terminate the ignition circuit. As a result, the engine will stop running, increasing the risk of a crash. Suzuki will notify owners, and Suzuki dealers will replace the side stand interlock switch bolts, free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin during june 2012. Owners may contact Suzuki at 1-714-996-7040. Suzuki’s recall campaign number is 2A29.  Customers may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (tty: 1-800-424-9153); or go to http://www.safercar.gov.
