2027 Kawasaki KLX300 Lineup Expands with New XPL Adventure Model and Engine Updates
Share
Kawasaki has rolled out significant revisions across its 2027 KLX300 dual-sport platform. The family now expands to four distinct trims: the standard KLX300, the KLX300SM supermoto, the utilitarian KLX300 DF, and the adventure-focused KLX300 XPL.
At the center of the revisions is an updated 292cc single-cylinder engine. Kawasaki installed a needle bearing on the connecting rod, raising engine output to 26.8 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 18.4 lb-ft of torque at 6,800 rpm.
Chassis and component changes include a move to a single left-side radiator design and the addition of switchable front-wheel ABS. Riders also get a redesigned lightweight digital LCD instrument dash that supports Rideology smartphone connectivity.
For riders looking to tackle longer trips off the showroom floor, the new KLX300 XPL adds touring-friendly equipment. The XPL trim features a round LED headlight, a tall clear windscreen, protective handguards, and a rear luggage rack. Kawasaki set the MSRP for the KLX300 XPL at $6,499.
Why Riders Should Care
The KLX300 remains one of the most popular lightweight dual-sport machines in the United States. With these platform updates, riders gain extra engine output, modern electronic features, and dedicated factory adventure equipment straight out of the crate.
