2027 Kawasaki Versys 900 SE LT Debuts with Radar Safety Tech

Kawasaki is expanding its sport-touring lineup with the announcement of the 2027 Versys 900 SE LT ABS. The new crossover machine bridges the gap between the middleweight Versys 650 twin and the flagship Versys 1100, bringing a dedicated four-cylinder option to riders looking for a balanced distance machine.

At the center of the bike sits a 948cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine derived from the Z900. Tuned to deliver smooth low-to-midrange torque, the powerplant pairs with an assist-and-slipper clutch to ease lever pull and manage downshifts. Kawasaki built the machine around a newly engineered steel trellis frame configured to provide 50:50 weight distribution.

Electronic rider safety is a major highlight on the new model. The motorcycle comes standard with Kawasaki's Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS) package. Utilizing radar technology, the system includes Adaptive Cruise Control Lite, Forward Collision Warning, and Blind Spot Detection to assist riders in changing traffic conditions.

Touring utility is ready straight from the crate. The LT designation brings standard 32-liter Shad hard side cases, giving riders lockable storage without needing to dig into the aftermarket catalog.

Why Riders Should Care

Sport-touring enthusiasts often have to choose between smaller parallel-twins and larger, heavier liter-class flagships. The Versys 900 SE LT addresses that split directly by offering four-cylinder highway performance, modern radar safety features, and integrated luggage for an MSRP under $14,000.

Biker Nation Perspective

Kawasaki set U.S. pricing for the 2027 Versys 900 SE LT ABS at $13,599, with bikes slated to land on dealership floors in March 2027. Combining advanced electronic rider aids with hard luggage at this price level provides touring riders a fully equipped setup without requiring expensive optional add-ons.
