Driver Arrested After Road Rage Crash Seriously Injures Harley Rider on I-65 in Louisville

A Clarksville man was arrested after a road rage crash on Interstate 65 in Louisville left a Harley-Davidson rider seriously injured, according to Louisville police.

Nathaniel Gibson, 25, of Clarksville, Indiana, was arrested October 6 on I-65 North at Grade Lane. Officers were called around 4:20 p.m. for a crash involving a Ford Mustang and a Harley-Davidson, both traveling northbound. They found the motorcyclist with serious injuries to his head and body.

Police wrote in Gibson's arrest citation that the two drivers were in a verbal argument. Police said the motorcyclist folded in the Mustang driver's side mirror, and Gibson then swerved into the motorcycle's lane multiple times before striking it.

Roadway evidence showed the Mustang hit the motorcycle's handlebars, causing the rider to lose control, hit a concrete barrier, and become separated from the bike, police said. Witnesses described it as a road rage incident. Gibson remained on scene until medical help arrived, police said.

He was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, and reckless driving. Gibson pleaded not guilty, and the judge gave him a $50,000 full cash bond with home incarceration if posted.

These are charges, not convictions. Gibson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
