Ducati DesertX V2 preview in camouflage wrap

Ducati Drops a New 890cc V2 into the DesertX Rally

Ducati is rolling out fresh engine hardware and high-end suspension updates for showroom floors worldwide and in the U.S.

At its Milan event, the factory brought five motorcycles to the spotlight. The biggest change lands in the DesertX Rally. The revised adventure machine now runs Ducati's new 890cc V2 engine with variable valve timing. That lightweight motor puts out 108.5 horsepower and 92 Nm of torque, matched with high-spec off-road running gear.

Track riders get plenty of attention, too. Ducati brought numbered SP editions to the Panigale V4, Panigale V2, and Streetfighter V4. Cruiser fans also see updates on the 2027 Diavel V4 S. That bike gains Öhlins SmartEC-3 semi-active suspension, a 6.9-inch TFT display with integrated navigation, and Factory Made customization options.

This matters for American riders because the 890cc V2 powerplant marks a major engineering shift across Ducati's mid-weight adventure and naked machines. Meanwhile, the SP badge brings serious track components straight to local riders who want race-ready hardware out of the crate.

Would you take the 890cc DesertX Rally into the dirt, or park a numbered SP superbike in your garage?
