Ducati Unveils 2027 Desmo EDS 450 Rally for Dakar and Customer Pre-Order

Ducati introduced the 2027 Desmo EDS 450 Rally at EICMA 2026, revealing a single-cylinder competition machine prepared for the 2027 Dakar Rally. According to reporting from Cycle News, Italian rider Tiziano Internò will race the motorcycle in Dakar's Original by Motul marathon class.
The rally motorcycle was developed through a partnership between Ducati, Rebel X Sports, and motorcycle designer Manuel Lucchese. It features race-tuned long-travel suspension and a desert-racing engine management system tuned by GET.
To handle extended marathon stages, the motorcycle carries 8.9 gallons of fuel across a split system of front and rear auxiliary tanks. Ducati also built the machine's taillights directly into the rear fuel tanks.
Beyond the factory rally campaign, Ducati confirmed that the platform will be offered to private buyers. Production is strictly capped at 35 units worldwide, with customer order books opening in February 2027.
