LiveWire CEO Steps Down as Harley-Davidson Unit Names Restructuring Officer

LiveWire Group Chief Executive Officer Karim Donnez stepped down from his post on October 21, 2026, marking a leadership transition for Harley-Davidson's electric motorcycle subsidiary.

The announcement surfaced in a Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and was reported by the Milwaukee Business Journal. Following Donnez's resignation, LiveWire's board of directors established a special restructuring committee composed of independent directors. This committee is responsible for evaluating potential strategic transactions and operational measures for the business.

As part of the restructuring process, LiveWire engaged Roy Gallagher of Ankura Consulting to serve as Chief Restructuring Officer. Gallagher joined the company under an engagement fee of $140,000 per month to assist the board and restructuring committee.

Harley-Davidson continues to hold a majority controlling interest in the electric motorcycle manufacturer. Corporate leadership reviewed LiveWire's third-quarter performance alongside Harley-Davidson's corporate earnings report on October 29.

The executive change and strategic review signal operational adjustments ahead for the electric brand. For riders and prospective buyers in the United States, outcomes from the restructuring committee could influence future electric motorcycle production volumes, model pricing, and dealer network support.
