Monster Energy Kawasaki and Chase Sexton Mutually Part Ways

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. and former 450 Supercross and Motocross champion Chase Sexton have mutually agreed to terminate their contract, effective October 23, 2026.

The move ends the partnership between Sexton and Monster Energy Kawasaki after just one season. Racing the factory Kawasaki KX450SR during the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, Sexton captured two 450SX main event victories, taking top honors at Anaheim 2 and Salt Lake City. His racing year was cut short during the AMA Pro Motocross outdoor season when he sustained a season-ending torn ACL at the Thunder Valley round.

Sexton's immediate departure opens a factory seat on the Kawasaki KX450SR for the upcoming 2027 racing season. The sudden opening creates a major vacancy at the top level of American Supercross and Motocross, triggering an unexpected reshuffle among championship contenders heading into the 2027 series.
