Nashville Bike Week Promoter Arrested

Michael Lewis Leffingwell, aka Mike Axle, the promoter of Nashville Bike Week has been arrested on multiple probation violation warrants in Bowling Green Kentucky.

The news was released on the Humphreys County Tennessee Sheriff's office Facebook page.

Leffingwell has a lengthy criminal history with multiple convictions for fraud and theft, including a federal conviction in Missouri.

In the federal case, Leffingwell was sentenced to three years in prison for taking money from companies he promised to promote products for at Nascar events. He took the money, but did not do the promotion.

In addition to prison time, he was ordered to pay $249,000 in restitution.

In July 2014, the Better Business Bureau issued a consumer warning about his concrete business “Got Concrete.”

According to the warning, two customers lodged complaints that said the business collected $6,700 in payments, but never completed the work.

Yesterday, June 4th, an admin for the official Facebook page for Nashville Bike Week posted this update.

We have been working diligently and have another venue worked out, it is the final venue and we feel the best!!

Our lawyers have the contract, we are making adjustments to ensure there are no issues or hiccups with this lease. The small town chamber of commerce we are working with is very supportive of our event and very welcoming of bikers! We will have announcements for you all soon! Nashville Bike Week dates are still September 14-24th!
