Yamaha has officially announced the launch of the FIM Yamaha R7 BLU CRU World Cup, scheduled to kick off for the 2027 racing season. According to information released by WorldSBK, the series is designed as an accessible international competition ladder for young and aspiring road racers aiming to advance into professional motorcycle racing.
Competitors in the championship will race the latest Yamaha R7 motorcycles, which are powered by the brand's 689cc CP2 engine. The series relies on race-prepared versions of the twin-cylinder machine running in a cost-capped environment to keep the equipment standardized across the grid.
To maintain financial accessibility for participating teams and emerging riders, the full-season competitive package has been set at a fixed price of €29,000.
