NBC Host Calls Leather Clad Bikers "Losers"

NBC’s Hoda Kotb pissed off a lot of leather-wearing motorcycle riding enthusiasts with an offhand comment about the time she and Kathie Lee Gifford went to a biker bar, called Alabama Jacks in 2013. “We dressed in leather, like a couple of losers really, like at the biker bar,” Kotb said. Alabama Jacks is located in Key Largo Florida and is a frequent hangout of locals and motorcycle riders.
Bikers took their anger to the Facebook page for the show writing, “Saw the comments made about dressing up like losers in leather and going to Alabama Jacks. You just lost a loser in leather for rating ladies…have fun in your plastic, fake Barbie world!” Another wrote, "I am seriously offended at Hoda's reference to dressing in leather and going to a biker bar as "dressing as losers". Obviously, she needs to get her head out of her dressing room and look at the facts. We are lawyers, doctors, secretaries, mechanics, military, police, college graduates, mothers, and fathers."

These are all great comments, but they are in the wrong place. We need to be expressing out outrage on Hoda’s facebook page as well as NBC News’ facebook page. I just went there expecting to see the outrage expressed here and elsewhere on those sites….nothing!

I used to enjoy watching Hoda, even favoring her over her cohost. Not anymore. She needs to take a riding course and hang out with some “losers” to learn that wearing leathers is a huge safety practice.
not going to let her opinion define me. true beliefs are always apparent in the off-handed comments that we deliver. she can stay on her side of the fence…I am and I hang with looser bikers!
I take her statement very offensive! Us so called (losers) /bikers . Are some the biggest givers and doers for some of the largest charity she has obviously never seen. Just because our giving isn’t done in the spotlight doesn’t give anyone the right to stereotype us. she needs to apologize for her judgement ignorance!
Toy runs, poker runs, other fundraisers! Road Queen USA, Inc. exists only because the motorcycle sector and their friends have the most giving and involved community of people found anywhere.
We are always attending benefits and runs for people we have never met. Helping those in need can be life changing for both the recipient and the contributor and when doing it on our motorcycles it just shows the world our passion. We Ride for a Cause!
