NBC Host Calls Leather Clad Bikers "Losers"

NBC’s Hoda Kotb pissed off a lot of leather-wearing motorcycle riding enthusiasts with an offhand comment about the time she and Kathie Lee Gifford went to a biker bar, called Alabama Jacks in 2013. “We dressed in leather, like a couple of losers really, like at the biker bar,” Kotb said. Alabama Jacks is located in Key Largo Florida and is a frequent hangout of locals and motorcycle riders.
Bikers took their anger to the Facebook page for the show writing, “Saw the comments made about dressing up like losers in leather and going to Alabama Jacks. You just lost a loser in leather for rating ladies…have fun in your plastic, fake Barbie world!” Another wrote, "I am seriously offended at Hoda's reference to dressing in leather and going to a biker bar as "dressing as losers". Obviously, she needs to get her head out of her dressing room and look at the facts. We are lawyers, doctors, secretaries, mechanics, military, police, college graduates, mothers, and fathers."

This is sad that ppl are so narrow minded! My husband and I have been riding our whole life and we participate in fund raisers for childrens hospital and local fire departments. We raise a lot of money for ppl in need. We work hard everyday and just because I put on leather doesn’t make me a looser. I won’t watch them anymore. Never liked Kathy Lee anyway so fake!
Wow, what an ignorant thing to say. I guess I’ll be tuning in to a different morning show from now on. We “leather wearing losers” probably make up a substantial percentage of their viewing audience and I hope every one of us makes some kind of noise over this stupid comment. I am absolutely appalled and saddened by what must be her true feelings about those of us that ride. After all, with every statement made there is always some truth behind it. So remember, when she apologizes and makes up an excuse that will appease the network to save her job that that is the only reason she is apologizing. Somewhere in that woman’s mind she believes in what she said, but will say anything to save her ass now. The apology and nice things she is going to say about bikers will be a bunch of lies to keep her job and cover her ass. Oblivious to the amazing things that we do for charities, the rides we take for Veteran’s affairs, for public awareness of many things not to mention the money that many of the places where we hold our rallies depend on the money we spend. Millions of dollars spent in these communities, I don’t ride for anyone’s praise, but I sure as hell don’t ride for anyone’s mockery either. She has pissed off the wrong group of people, bikers are not the type to walk away quietly.

I bet this Hoda doesn’t do as much for charity and good causes as bikers do. Ask the recipients of biker donations who they think the losers are. Also, look at BACA, Bikers Against Child Abuse. Ask the children they protect if bikers have given them the courage to testify against their abusers and helped turn their lives around for the better. If this woman needs legal help or surgery, it just might be a biker that she’s relying on.
Just goes to show, don’t need to be very tactful to be a host on NBC, and the fact that the sponser’s and production staff must be "loser’s " as well,l I am a retired fire Capt. and have been riding all my life.
