NBC Host Calls Leather Clad Bikers "Losers"

NBC’s Hoda Kotb pissed off a lot of leather-wearing motorcycle riding enthusiasts with an offhand comment about the time she and Kathie Lee Gifford went to a biker bar, called Alabama Jacks in 2013. “We dressed in leather, like a couple of losers really, like at the biker bar,” Kotb said. Alabama Jacks is located in Key Largo Florida and is a frequent hangout of locals and motorcycle riders.
Bikers took their anger to the Facebook page for the show writing, “Saw the comments made about dressing up like losers in leather and going to Alabama Jacks. You just lost a loser in leather for rating ladies…have fun in your plastic, fake Barbie world!” Another wrote, "I am seriously offended at Hoda's reference to dressing in leather and going to a biker bar as "dressing as losers". Obviously, she needs to get her head out of her dressing room and look at the facts. We are lawyers, doctors, secretaries, mechanics, military, police, college graduates, mothers, and fathers."

It is obvious that you do not know what you are talking about. Do your research; bikers are the largest contributors to charities in the USA and United Kingdom. We come from all walks of life and when we come out of the work clothes to put on our leather…you will find tattoos and hearts of gold. I belong to a Motorcycle Club (not a gang) comprised of veterans that have served their country and we are proud of that fact and we fought and died so that people like you would have the right to freedom of speech. Come out of your Hollywood make believe world one day and visit with a biker group or Motorcycle Club, guarantee you will be around some of the finest people in the country.

Sometimes people do or say some really dumb things when they are trying to be funny. In their circle that would be funny. It s a type of humor that is performed at the expense of someone else’s appearance, or characteristics. I am sure that the so called losers were not as antagonistic at Alabama Jack’s as Hoda was on her show story telling. They probably had a pretty good time there @ Jack’s, and were accepted even if they didn’t quite fit in. It is just an attempt at making herself feel superior to others by putting them down. Actually posers are the losers. And at Alabama Jack’s they were just posers, and they knew it. If they were uncomfortable at all, it was because they knew they were posers. I have been through many parts of the country on bikes, and I have been treated well wherever I went. We even pulled over to look at our maps and other riders pulled over just to see if we were Ok or needed help. No one else stopped to help. Not even the Police stopped. I think Hoda has a misconception of the biker community in general, and leathers are for protection. No apology necessary. Just have to look at which one of us lives in the real world. I am an IT Specialist for a car maufacturer. I am also a motorcycle rider. I have raised three kids that are college grads and have 7 grandchildren. I contrbuteto society. Can she say the same? I wear leather gear, and I am not a loser. Neither are my fellow cruisers. Nothing anyone says changes that. Everyone has a right to their opinion. Even Posers.
As a leather wearing LOSER, let’s see if my schedule will allow me to watch Hoda and Kathy Lee, let’s see, sling steel at work 9 hrs a day 5 to 6 day’s a week, plan 2 benefit rides, 1 family picnic, 2 trips to the state capital over bill’s that affect motorcycle riders in Missouri. Plan toy run shopping and parade. Take part in 6 other fund raiser’s that I know of as of Jan 27,2015, for 3 sick kids, the Veterans nursing home,a fellow rider with cancer, and a save the ta-ta’s. oh and work out details for 3 Motorcycle safety school assemblies at 3 local high school’s by May before school lets out for the summer……DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA nope this leather wearing loser is to busy to watch Hoda and Kathy Lee in the morning.
